As some of you may know, me and the lady friend have flights booked for thursday from East Midlands depart 1930 arrive 2030 in dublin.
We were supposed to be crashing at shanes for a slum it weekend. Now we can't.
Werent gonna bother comin because it meant we'd need a hotel and they are fucking expensive. For the price of the flights may as well write off the money and forget it.
Looking at lastminute.com though some pretty good deals on offer. But i dont know where the fuck to go. What the cost of taxis and stuff are, not least Shanes as easy to get in touch with as the pope.
Is there anyone who can give me a bit of knowledge on what i can expect to pay for taxis say from airport to dublin centre and stuff like that?
And for that matter does anyone know any decently located hotels that arent gonna cost £200 a night?
Anyone in Dublin read this please.

These 2 are around the £150 for 4 nights room only which i dont think is too bad, plus they're are smack in the middle od Dublin (I think).
Any advice from the potato lovers amongst us would be welcome.
And i heard a rumour that sunday roast is meat and potatoes. You dont even get gravy?!

Taxi's should cost no more than 30 euro into Dublin town from the airport (Looking at the Ardmore Hotel it is probaly no more than 20/25 euro). If you catch the 16A bus from the front of the airport you can get there in under 15 mins provided the traffic has cleared for under 2 euro. Get off it after the bus go's over the canal at the Big Tree Pub (The only one on the north side of the city). It looks like this on the left of the Bus
Get off just after or before this pub (stops are ever 140 meters) cross the road and the hotel is located just on that block.
Hope that helps, Its not too far from the airport and a 15 minute walk to O'Connells Street (City Centre).

Yeah that pretty much backs up what nitro said. So is this Ardmore place alright then? I know its a cheap offer so aint gonna expect royal treatment.Oglaigh wrote:Taxi's should cost no more than 30 euro into Dublin town from the airport (Looking at the Ardmore Hotel it is probaly no more than 20/25 euro).
