You can get a hard drive caddy or you can set the drive up as a slave inside the computer.

Then you need a bit of software for file recovery.

Whatever you do though, don't format the shitty hard drive or try to write any files to it in any way.

I will upload a program on to Rapidshare tomorrow (hopefully, may need to remind me) which is great for file recovery. It has 2 programs built in to 1. The 1st one will restore the drive to a working state if it can, the other one allows you to browse the hard drive picking off files and folders.

The grand per GB type things are when the drive has completely failed and no data can be read at all, so they take the hard drive apart and put the platters into another drive. It is extremely time consuming and expensive and not 100% reliable.

Why don't you plug the hard drive in to your computer rather than splashing out on a caddy? If the drive has failed completely you will have wasted your money on it.
