LCFC - The laughing stock of the Championship

Post by Revolver »

How a team can go from a penalty shoot out away from the play off final to the bottom of the table after 9 games can only be described in 5 words. Milan Mandaric and Paulo Sousa.

All the optimism I had (which lets face it, was a lot) has completely fucking disappeared after the abysmal start we've had. I find it amazing our 2nd team can beat 2 championship sides in the Carling Cup, yet our first team can only manage 1 win in 9 in the very same league those teams are from, and that win was against a very under strangth Cardiff team.

So why am I suddenly excited again?

Because our joke of a team (well, joke of a club at the moment) is supposedly getting Martin O'Neill back! Get in! And if not the other strong rumour is the Mighty Sven, Sven, Sven Gorsan Erikkson! Oh the comedy that could follow.....

Don't forget with Iain Dowie, Palace were 4th from bottom late November. We won one match and I stupidly put a £20 bet on with a friend that Palace would get promoted that season.

Come May, I was £20 richer.

It is only a matter of time until Preston, Palace, Leicester and Portsmouth pull their fingers out. QPR and Cardiff will start to drop off (I really hope QPR do).

QPR will fall down, they really didn't play that well when they beat us 2-0. Although it looked like that was the tactics they were employing that could have made them look shit. They're first goal was a peach as well.

Back to City, it's time to lock up your wives and daughters in Leicester, Sven is here! Nice to get 3 points before the international break as well, even if it was 'only' Scunthorpe.

I bet Sven is loving it here already, the first thing he has had to do is fly to Thailand with the team to go shag some ladyboys.

QPR beat us 2-1 from 2 gifted goals. We outplayed them in the first half but came out for the second half disinterested and allowed QPR to take the lead through an absolutely ridiculous backpass from Edgar Davids took around 15 mins till we started to play football again got our deserved goal then Speroni made a huge cock up and gave them the victory.

Good to see Leicester finally getting some points but it won't last.

Just read a report on The Seventy Two about Palace:

"Next up is Millwall at home, which was expertly advertised on the big screen alongside a Crystal Palace dartboard. Top marks to the guys behind that!"

I'm actually confident with Sven. We've got practically the same team as last season which finished 5th and Sven will play to our strengths instead of trying to change things drastically like Paulo did. Sven did well with Man City getting them to play with their strengths, and he certainly had the dressing room. His players practically went on strike for him. Still don't know why they ditched him in all honestly. It was before they had all the money as well. Who did they replace him with? Mark Hughes? And he spent £20 million on Roque Santa Cruz for crying out loud!

As Sven said, we're only 8 points off play offs and 12 from automatic place
