Judging by the weather I am going to have a free weekend so thinking about creating a new map, aop_mayhem_2012
What do you want? (remember I am shit at making maps, I'm sure you remember aop_mayhem_2k7 (it's on the aop server if you don't), round times of 10 seconds)
Not going to do any fancy texturing, so will be in the same style as mayhem_2k7.
Idea 1
I'm thinking a square map. spawn points are opposite each other on different sides. In the middle will be an underground tunnel type thing. There will be three bridges, 2 small ones on the side and a big one in the middle. All 3 bridges will have obstacles to hide behind. There will be 4 ramps to the underground bit, 2 from each side, between the bridges.
Not sure whether the underground should be exposed from the bridges or not. If not, should there be some tough glass so you can spot possible campers easily in the tunnel?
Idea 2
Similar to idea 1 (square map, spawn points etc), but have a large openish area in the middle of the map with small bridges connecting in to it from the spawn points with no tunnel (or possible mini tunnels to try and ambush the opponents)
In the images, the darker colours are higher up, lighter colours are lower down.

Great ideas to start with.
In case 1, I would say that the underground should be exposed to prevent camping, but if it's all open it will be to easy to kill from above.
The idea of a glass cover is nice, maybe normal glass so that bullets can penetrate but not kill immediately.
In case 2, the large open area should have some obstacles to be able to hide, else you're a sitting duck.

Both maps will have loads of boxes and shit all over them especially #2. Just couldn't be arsed doing it in photoshop.
What do you think about a really tight maze type map which has corridors which only fit one person down at a time?

The second map would be awesome with an upstairs/downstairs. Spawn on lower leve and have ramps heading up to higher level. Would need walls on lower level to prevent spawn sniping. Could dot some ladders around as well for more access between levels. If I could draw somehow, I would. Where can I upload?

I know what you mean, that would make it better than what I have done, too easy for spawn sniping.
2 floors with the top being pretty much what I have at the moment. 4 ladders, 2 each side on the black bits. Then those ramps have ramps to the side that go down to the lower level.

Me and Skel spent almost the whole weekend building maps. A couple of them came out pretty good.
