ethernet cable and broadband

Post by sparksy »

im having real issues with my broadband at the miniute... i keep having to re-set my wirless virgin media router it ranges from a great 60mb sometimes to as low as 0.5 8O and my ping is fooking dreadfull http://www.pingtest.net/result/74823035.png that was to germany were i was trying to play BF3 .. i keep getting massive lagg spikes..even when im on a british server... i thought it may be some graphics issues but im kind of convinced now its ping and stuff.

question is should i be using any different ethernet cable?? im using a yellow one at the min. i also have a blue one someware. it seems to have started (A) when virgin doubled my speed to 60mb and (b) when i got this cintiq... any ideas cos im lost. :( :?: :?:

Talk to Virgin, some of the superhubs are shit. The ethernet cable you are using won't make a difference, it will either work or it won't work. Ping shouldn't really be above 100ms even to Germany.

sent them a email and they are going to respond... today its 60mb again were as last night it was 1.5. the ping to france was 45 a min ago. its very erratic.... maybe the super hub is fucked. ill wait for them to respond... cs:global seemed ok last night but bf3 was awfull lagg-o-ramma and im certain its not graphics issues ..steam stress test said i was getting 290fps so that seems ok....

I'm sure it will be a problem with the superhub whether Virgin chose to admin it or not. Just keep at them.
