Looking at getting a new car as mine is getting on a bit and my mum wants to get rid of hers and it's probably easier to get rid of it in part exchange.
Probably looking towards an ex-demo car. So normal price of around £18,000.
Was looking at Volvo S40 but it's a bit slow. Then I looked at Audi A3, unreliable.
At the moment I am looking at Ford Mondeo (2007 model, not the old shitty one that looks like a piece of shit). How is yours doing poon? Any problems?
What car??

Re: What car??
Diesels sound like tractors though.
Re: What car??
only old ones, new ones sound much better......way more economic to run...and only one trip to the petrol station each month

Re: What car??
Well new Mondeo 2.0 TDCi looks like my best bet at the moment, if I can find an ex-demo car for cheap. Also need to test drive one, a bit bigger than my current car.

Re: What car??
I have had no problems to speak of as yet, ok i have only had it five weeks but i have done over 5000 miles in that space of time so its had a good run in. I cant recommend it enough skel, ford gear boxes are the dogs, always have been and always will be. I went for the diesel and yeah, it is a bit loud but as sparx said im getting about 650 miles to a tank at the moment. If you can, id try and get one with the sports kit fitted, if your looking at an ex test car they will prob have it on anyway, the two test drive cars at my local dealership do. Im used to driving large cars, previous car was a passat and the one before that was another mondeo but this one looks and feels twice as big. Alot of its to do with the new detailing and the bonnets about 6 inches higher than the previous model...the mrs looks miles away in the passenger seat! Took abit of getting used to.
All in all im very happy with it, you should all go and get one imo, or if your a cunt like me get your company to do it for you

Re: What car??
My new company is a charity and I don't think I will be doing a whole lot of travelling with them.
I was looking at the options and the sports package is only £150 or so, but as you say they will probably have that on the test cars as they don't want to show off in the low models.
I think I will go for a test drive soon, nearest garage is quite far away though. But on a positive my dad's friend's son works at the garage, so I will get my dad to pass a message through to get me a nice discount

Mine should have been 21,950 and i got it for 17,000. If you can beat that you will be my bargain hero.

Re: What car??
My dad's friend's son said they have some good deals on at the moment, so I will have to pop over to the garage at some point. I don't really want to spend anything above £18,000. Need to sort out deposit money too, gurr.
