usb flash memory
Re: usb flash memory
The standard was compared a few months ago. Doesn't mean manufacturers will go by the standards.

Re: usb flash memory
yay, another generation and variation of quality and performance and unreliable cheap nasty brands that freak out with anything above 4GB..
they aren't really meant to be a longterm reliable storage solution, it's just for data transport to work and back, you should always backup to a reliable longterm device. thing is.. i never handled data that went beyond 3gb IN TOTAL! for a mass of projects.. usually, video editors or any other forms of rich media would remain on the work server.. or on the college/university intranet. or if at home, kept on the computer, and backed up to mass storage.

BluRay image = 45-50GB
BluRay rip = 8-18GB
Getting closer to a good filesize.

Re: usb flash memory
yeah, but who in their right mind, apart from paramount and other film producers are going do
final masters of movies to that amount to those kinds of filesizes? it's getting to the stage where we'll need render farms to finalize and edit video in such high compression qualities lol
Other than that, Adverts, and tv programs are realistically looking at 3- 6 GB in HD formats, again, i'd rather edit them locally rather than off a shitty USB stick lol i copy all my stuff to a local place, then format my key everytime i copy back too.

Re: usb flash memory
yeah, fair play there.. i do know that every so often Lidle do a awesome and cheap little HD/Blu-Ray player, not sure which... but for £30 it also upscales all your DVD's to HD, probably not all the way to full HD (1080p) but
they will look considerably better on an HD panel.
good luck
