Re: Euro 2012
Last time England played Spain didn't we win 1-0? I am 50/50 about Sunday night, I thought the Italian's would be better than they have been and I thought England would be worse than they have been. Although they haven't exaclty played great football they've got the results. Even if we beat Italy, facing the German's who really should beat Greece will be a ridiculously tough challenge.

I could see Greece beating Germany, not because they are good but because I can see Germany fucking up.
England I can see losing, but I wouldn't put it past them to get an ugly victory.

Yeah we beat spain and didn't even have our strongest team out so who knows? I have a weird feeling we'll get a sneaky 2 - 1 win with donkey carroll and rooney scoring.
Germany are fucking on it at the moment and there is no way they will fuck up 3 games 3 wins soon to be 4.. I expect them to easily get past greece and
I hate to say it but ..ozil alone will rip us apart and gomez will finish us off.

Re: Euro 2012
I still say our midfield is the problem. You won't win anything with Parker. He infuriated me last game by stopping his runs instead of pushing forward into space. More than once he was running, 3 on 3 or 4, full backs out of position and e just stopped running.
The alternative for me would be a Paul Schols type player, or perhaps Henderson is the only one of the current squad who would be more offensive and he's shit! But the bigger problem is, we won't win with Parker but if you remove him we would probably concede a lot more. Hence the constant "ugly" wins.
A better midfield and we'd have a not bad team.
Rooney better turn up as well after the last game, he was awful. If he plays shit again (and he will play because everyone seems to think he's our Ronaldo []) but we somehow manage to get through then I hope he's dropped for the semi. But that's looking ahead obviously.

Re: Euro 2012
You are mad? Parker is the fucking rock holding midfield together for me... never looked at him as an attacking player?
I'd rather have him on over half the underserved liverpool players who some how made it in to the squad... ahead of scholes or even carrick for that matter..
Rooney is easily our best striker? It would be suicide to drop him for Carroll,Welbeck or Defoe.

Only saw brief highlights but the fact that Rooney missed that sitter from 5 yards in the first half shows that he is seriously lacking in match practice.
As for Parker. I wouldn't say he is a 'fucking rock' but he does the job, it's just not a pretty job. Those sorts of midfielders always get stick but if you look at the game as a whole they played a valuable role and without them the game could of been completely different.

Am I mad? Think I answered that already. Parker does a job but he does nothing else. He isn't world class. Yaya Toure for example is a rock when he plays holding but he can also burst forward and plays incredibly well as an attacking midfielder. The point being he can switch roles. Parker throws himself in the way of everything yes, but how many goals and assists does he get?Revolver wrote:...we won't win with Parker but if you remove him we would probably concede a lot more.

Skel answered that for you Blaze. Rooney is our best striker, that is why when he came in to the team we created less chances than in any other matches and apart from one header from 2 yards out he did fuck all. Yes you can say that "he was in the right place to score though", but I am sure Jermaine Defoe would have been if he was on the pitch for that corner. It is what strikers do. We scored against France and created a couple of other openings, and scored 3 against Sweden off of the creativity and work rate of Welbeck and Carroll, Rooney simply disjointed the team. We already have Parker AND Gerrard that do not get forward enough, the last thing we need is a frustrated Rooney dropping back in to midfield looking for the ball.skeletor wrote:Only saw brief highlights but the fact that Rooney missed that sitter from 5 yards in the first half shows that he is seriously lacking in match practice.
